When does Fraser's winter start? Winter Park Resort's hours page for 2026–2027 doesn't give a date. It lists the first day of skiing and riding as "As Soon As Possible (ASAP)." Colorado Adventure Park's homepage tells visitors to check back for opening day. The Historic Fraser Tubing Hill posts its usual winter hours but no opening date for this season.
The rest of the calendar between now and Thanksgiving is already set. A distillery, three breweries, the library, the recreation district and the Lions Club have all published dates. Most of them are on or near Zerex Street, and most repeat every week. The ski schedule is still open, but the town's own schedule is fixed.
The week has a shape, and it starts on Tuesday
This works because Fraser's taprooms post regular hours and haven't announced fall closures. Vicious Cycle Brewing lists daily hours of noon to 9 p.m. on its own site. Fraser River Beer Co. is listed as open daily, noon to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Camber Brewing is listed every day of the week, opening at 1 p.m. on Mondays and staying open until 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. None of these businesses has posted a fall break. Posted hours aren't a guarantee in October, so call ahead before a weeknight plan.
Each venue then has its own weekly anchor:
- Tuesday, 4 to 6:30 p.m.: Mahjong at Vicious Cycle Brewing, 751 Zerex St.
- Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m.: Free trivia at Fraser River Beer Co., with discounted food from the food truck.
- Wednesday, all day: Happy hour at Fraser Valley Distilling, 410 N. Zerex St.
- Nuggets and Avalanche game nights: $2 off full pours and $3 off Jib'n Juice at Camber Brewing.
Tuesday is the night to note. Mahjong ends at Vicious Cycle at 6:30, and trivia at Fraser River Beer Co. starts at 6. You could do both if you leave the second game early. Each of these offers is listed as valid from January 1 through December 31, 2026. They're year-round programs, not specials invented for the slow season, so they stay steady while the visitor calendar thins out.
Fraser Valley Distilling's schedule needs a closer look. Its own site lists service Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from noon to 8:30 p.m., with lunch noon to 3 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The posted week starts on Wednesday, and so does the all-day happy hour.
Dinner that doesn't depend on the season
For a sit-down meal, two Fraser restaurants are listed as open year-round in the Winter Park & Fraser Chamber's directory.
Elevation Pizza at 551 Zerex St. is listed Monday and Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. That's a 4 p.m. opening on the two nights the rest of the week is still getting going. It's also changed since spring. In July, Sky-Hi News reported on a Fraser Valley ribbon-cutting and block party, and Elevation Pizza's newly renovated dining room and full bar were among the changes it covered. Fall may be the first time many locals see the new room without a summer crowd in it.
Solstice Bistro is also listed as open year-round, with dinner described as Wednesday through Saturday, 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. The hours table on the same page doesn't match that description, so confirm the night before you book.
The dated events, in order
The weekly rhythm is the base, and the one-time events fit around it. Several land on nights that already have something going on.
- Thursdays, October 8 through 29, 10 to 11 a.m.: Storytime at Fraser Valley Library, 421 Norgren Rd.
- Saturdays, October 10 through 31, 10 to 10:30 a.m.: Music and Movement at the library.
- Wednesday, October 14, 6 to 8 p.m.: Colorado author Becky Jensen talks about her book at Fraser Valley Distilling. That's a Wednesday, the same day as the distillery's all-day happy hour.
- Thursday, October 15: Run club at Vicious Cycle Brewing, from the brewery's own events calendar.
- Saturday, October 17, 2 to 3 p.m.: Witch Bells Crafternoon at the library.
- Friday, October 23: Two library events in a row: the Horror Book Club from 3 to 4 p.m., then a tween Werewolf game from 4 to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, November 14, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: The Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District's annual Holiday Artisan Craft Fair at Grand Park Community Recreation Center, 1 Main St., with handmade goods from local and regional makers. Vendors can find details on the recreation district's upcoming events page.
- Thursday, November 26, 9:30 a.m.: The Winter Park Turkey Trot 5K.
Why the Turkey Trot ends in Fraser
The Turkey Trot is the clearest example of the town hosting its own season. The Fraser River Valley Lions Club runs the race on Thanksgiving morning. It starts at Cooper Creek Square in Winter Park and finishes at Vicious Cycle Brewing in Fraser. Entry costs $30 for adults and $15 for kids under 12. Every participant gets a canvas tote and a pair of Winter Park crew socks, and the top 10 adult finishers 21 and over get a free beer at Vicious Cycle.
Packet pickup runs on Wednesday, November 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Winter Park Information Center and from 5 to 7 p.m. at Vicious Cycle. Race-morning pickup is 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at 50 Vasquez Rd. in Winter Park. All proceeds go to the Lions Club for grants to local nonprofits and scholarships for graduating high school seniors in the area. Registration is open on RunSignup, and Lori Orzech is listed as chair.
The evening pickup puts a Wednesday night at the brewery the day before Thanksgiving, and the race ends at the same address the next morning. Vicious Cycle shows up on this calendar more than any other place: Tuesday Mahjong, the October 15 run club, packet pickup and the finish line.
What's still waiting on snow, and what's waiting on asphalt
The parts of Fraser's fall that aren't fixed yet are the ones that depend on outside conditions. When the resort does open, its hours page says weekend lifts will start at 8 a.m. this winter. The Historic Fraser Tubing Hill lists winter hours of 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, conditions permitting, with no reservations needed. Its rates page still says "2024-2025 Season," so check prices before you go.
The town has its own projects in progress. At the Town of Fraser Board of Trustees meeting on September 16, the St. Louis Landing project team forecast that the new bridge and Edna Tucker Way between County Road 8 and Park Avenue would be paved and substantially complete by September 30, 2026. It also said all off-site road work was scheduled to finish by October 15. The same presentation forecast St. Louis Landing's Building C for completion on November 16, with first occupancy in December 2026. The presentation describes these dates as forecasts that may change. Treat the new connection between CR8 and Park Avenue as scheduled until the town confirms it's done.
Until the resort sets a date, the confirmed calendar is the one above: Mahjong and trivia on Tuesdays, happy hour at Fraser Valley Distilling on Wednesdays, the craft fair at Grand Park Community Recreation Center on November 14, and the Turkey Trot finish at 751 Zerex St. on Thanksgiving morning.
At Erin Life, we keep track of what Fraser looks like in the quiet weeks as well as the busy ones. That local calendar is part of how we help neighbors and second-home owners get to know the Fraser Valley.
