Many visitors to Grand County are disappointed to find that dogs are not allowed on hiking trails in Rocky Mountain National Park. But never fear! As dog lovers ourselves, we’re here to share some of our favorite pet-preferred paths.
Grand Lake/Granby: Monarch Lake Loop – this 4 mile trail is dog-friendly and family friendly.
Tabernash: Columbine Lake via Caribou Pass Trail – this 6.3 mile trek is more challenging and best accessed during summer and fall months
Fraser: Fraser River Trail – Although this is a 6.5 mile hike, it is good for all skill levels.
Winter Park: Discovery Challenger Trail – This short 1.2 mile trail features a river and is kid-friendly as well
All of these trails do require dogs to be leashed but if you want to let Fido run free , visit the Granby Dog Park for a little exercise and socialization.
